Final Steps, New Research, and Fresh Learning Tools

July 19, 2025

The Swim to Live project is reaching its final stage with exciting results and resources now available for coaches, teachers, and young people.

At our final meeting in Ljubljana 🇸🇮, partners came together to reflect on the journey and finalize the project’s key outcome — a Guidebook on swimming and mindfulness for adolescents with ADHD. The Guide will also be made accessible for visually impaired users, ensuring inclusivity for all. A special highlight was the awarding of the official Swim to Live Licences to our trained instructors, certifying their skills in combining professionalism, empathy, and innovative teaching methods.

Meanwhile, our practical work has continued in the pool and beyond. Through structured swimming lessons and mindfulness sessions, adolescents have improved focus, emotional balance, and body awareness — while having fun in the water.

We are also proud to share new research findings confirming that the combination of swimming, mindfulness, and time management techniques significantly improves self-efficacy, optimism, stress resilience, and social skills, while helping reduce ADHD symptoms such as inattention and impulsivity.

To support coaches and instructors, we’ve published a series of practical training videos on our YouTube channel. These include both swimming drills (focusing on rhythm, rotation, and smooth transitions) and mindfulness practices (on land and in water), offering concrete tools to apply in everyday training sessions.

Stay tuned as we release the final Guidebook and continue to share tools that bring together swimming, mindfulness, and inclusive practice to support young people with concentration difficulties.
